CRUISING THROUGH HISTORY

Now the “Cruising Through History” tours just got even more exciting! For the remaining four tours, Kamiya will be joined by renowned pianist and composer Allison Lovejoy, who will perform authentic pieces from each tour’s historical era, as well as her own original compositions. Kamiya’s enthralling storytelling and Lovejoy’s fun and enchanting music, played on both piano and accordion, will make these cruises unforgettable.

The next tour, “Yerba Buena to San Francisco: Tales of the Instant City,” will be especially entertaining. As Tideline’s first-class 72-foot touring boat Peregrine cruises around the Bay, Kamiya will tell stories from his favorite period of San Francisco history, the sleepy, enchanted Yerba Buena years, then dive deliriously into the crazy event that created an instant city and changed the history of the West forever: The Gold Rush.

Lovejoy, herself a San Francisco history buff who has written a cabaret musical based on the city’s rollicking past, will play some of the hilarious and poignant songs of the Gold Rush, as well as original songs inspired by the city’s Barbary Coast era and the wild women and men who haunted its boozy streets.
