Day 15 | Sway

As our environment shifts in a sensory overloaded world, it’s easy to feel disconnected, stressed and off balance.

There are two oft unmentioned senses that play a significant role in soothing your mind and feeling balanced in a rocking world.

- Your Vestibular sense is your GPS (Global Positioning System). It tells you the space you are in and how to navigate based upon your head movements & gravity processed through inner ear.

- Your Proprioceptive sense is your “body sense” (That’s the info from your muscles & joints): sitting, driving, stairs, bending (movement between objects).

 

Presence Pause: If you’ve been feeling a bit reactive as you move through uncertain territories, consider sway standing. 

- Just for this moment stand, place your feet shoulder width apart and look straight ahead, this reduces conflicting messages.

- Take a lozenge or candy

- Begin slow rhythmic movement from side to side as your feet remain planted on the ground.

Action : Affirm that you are calm and a model of conscious connection to yourself and this great planet as the world moves around you.
