LA Q MARIN

La Q brings Mexican Street Fare to Marin

Snuggled into the nook under an overhang between the Vitamin Shoppe and Trader Joes stands

La Q, a permanently parked taco cart serving Mexican-style takeaway street food with its own

spin.

The restaurant team is led by Steve Paoli, a San Francisco-born and raised restaurant veteran.

The menu features crispy cheesy tacos, traditional street tacos and calzados (La Q’s version of a

burrito). Heading up the kitchen is Francisco Cazares who hails from Michoacán and has opened

10 of Paoli’s prior restaurants. The compact menu features top-notch ingredients and features

short rib guisado, slow roasted carnitas, marinated pollo asado, red chile gulf prawns, mojo

roasted sweet potatoes, charred broccolini + cauliflower and Francisco’s delicious vegan

refritos. It’s quite a bit different from a traditional taqueria but nonetheless loaded with

Mexican soul and authenticity.

Ordering is simple, fast, convenient and contactless. Either online grab and go (laqmarin.com)

or at the self-service terminal. Payment is credit card only.

Paoli is one of the lucky tenants at The Cove at Tiburon, which he believes to be the best

community apartment property in Marin. He has access to water, breathtaking views and hiking

trails. Steve also loves the good dog vibes and how everyone gets along so well in such an

amazing community managed by a team that care deeply about their tenants. “I feel very

fortunate,”; Paoli says.
