GYMNASTICS BUS

A mobile gym for your kids

Imagine a gym that’s designed specifically for kids 2 to 7 years old outfitted with everything they need to learn gymnastics such as rolling, swinging, jumping, climbing, balancing, handstands and even cartwheels. Now put it on wheels so it can come to you instead of you going to it.

That’s what the Gymnastics Bus is all about and better yet, it’s coming your way to The Cove.

Coach Isaac created the Gymnastics Bus in 2006. The 40-foot long mobile gym is designed with kid-sized apparatus that can be rotated in and out to keep the classes fun, exciting and interesting, while developing skills along the way. Standard equipment includes a low and high bar, rings, vault, beam, trampoline, parallel bars, air trampoline and a tumbling floor. There’s even a spotting harness that connects to the ceiling so kids can learn flips.

“I always had a passion for working with kids and gymnastics,” says Coach Isaac. “In talking to families over the years, I realized there was a need for a mobile program that could travel to schools and communities throughout the county since many families didn’t have time to take their kids to class after work. I remember as a kid, around the age of 5, my parents had a friend who had converted an old school bus into a motorhome, and it was so big I could do cartwheels in it. That's what gave me the idea for The Gymnastics Bus!”

Coach Isaac says the concept of bringing the Gymnastics Bus to The Cove started with a casual conversation at a local preschool. “I was asked if I would be interested in starting a program at The Cove and it made sense, so here we are.”

A free trial class on Oct. 27 will help gauge interest. There will be a class for kids age 3 to 5 from 3:30 to 4 p.m. and a class for kids age 5 to 7  from 4 to 4:30 p.m.  Paid sessions will begin Nov. 3. The cost is $74 a month per child and parents can register their kids at TheGymnasticsBus.com or use this specific link.

As an added bonus, kids can meet Coach Isaac’s fur baby Sammy, a six-year-old rescue dog. He is a little fluff ball and has his own doghouse built into the bus cabinets and likes to watch the kids do their gymnastics. He is hypoallergenic and loves kids. He is always ready for a snuggle before or after class.
