Presence Pause:

Sit comfortably and inhale deeply. Find your breath in your abdomen. Close your eyes or soften your gaze, continuing to breathe deeply and, slowly.

Image in your kitchen, or allow your mind's eye to create one that feels familiar and inviting.

Imagine you are standing at the doorway to this kitchen and notice the walls, cabinets, countertops, the floor.

Imagine an open window with a soft warm breeze blowing in, gently moving the curtains.

Notice the pleasant smells in this kitchen; perhaps cooking or baking smells linger in the air.

It is a cozy, warm, inviting space.

Bring your gaze to the counter and notice a fresh, healthy, bright yellow lemon resting on a beautiful cutting board .

Notice its size, it's texture and shape. Reach out , pick up the lemon and feel if it's firm, the gentle ripple in the skin, its temperature and its overall smoothness.

Return the lemon back to the cutting board, and carefully pick up the knife in your dominant hand.

Holding the lemon steady with your other hand, cut the lemon in half.

As you feel the knife slicing through the fruit, it falls open revealing beautiful jewel-like pulp in neat rows.

Notice the perfection of the internal design, it's sections, and juices in their chambers .

Now take one half of the lemon and cut it again, making a quarter-size slice. Put the knife down, and bring the lemon quarter up to your nose.

Breathe deeply of the sweet sour, fresh citrus aroma filling your nose.

Touch the lemon to your lips, noticing the sensations.

Now, open your mouth and BITE into the lemon.

Action:

Notice what sensations you felt during the exercise and how the power of the mind can effect physical reaction in our bodies, as if it were really happening.
